Adventures of the Watts Family
Family Fun

Cole helped me pick out this background – which is ironic since my new year’s resolution was to lose a few pounds. I hadn’t been too concerned with my weight recently – I felt comfortable in my skin – but the holidays did a number on me. My clothes aren’t fitting very well – and then I made the mistake of getting on the scale. Not a good idea – I almost passed out from shock and embarrassment – and decided I better do something about it. A friend wants to run a 5K at Thanksgiving, so I thought I’d borrow that goal to help me with the weight loss goal. I found online a program called Couch to 5K that gives you 3 workouts a week for 12 weeks to take you from your couch to 3 miles. I did the first one Friday – and didn’t die – so I guess I need to do the next one!! Not fun stuff, but better than looking like or feeling like Jabba the Hut. We also have the Wii Fit – that I need to get out and use – along with numerous workout videos. I have all the stuff – now I just need to pull out that will power and motivation!

The boys had a wonderful Christmas – Santa brought them everything they wanted. Tools for Cole – Roller blades for Jalyn. Along with clothes, dvds, Wii games, Clone War toys, and much more. (I don’t think I took any pictures of Christmas with family in the panhandle – I have an IM into my brother to get some – which I’ll post when I get the chance.) Of course, now we have to find a place for it all – but that won’t be a problem for much longer. . . .

We have a contract on a house!!! Hooray!! It is much bigger than our townhouse (which isn’t hard to do) – with a great big backyard – and (my favorite part) a fireplace in the master bedroom that passes through to the master bath. While we still think that moving into the townhouse – it has been much harder than we thought. The boys have a place to play outside – but no backyard – so it limits the amount of the time they can actually spend outside. Plus, while we all love each other deeply – being on top of each other all the time isn’t that much fun. It will be nice to be in a place where we can stretch our legs. The best thing about it all is that we found and are buying this house via a mutual friend (of us and the seller) – and it is a blessing not just to us, but to the sellers as well. We are set to close in February – and I’ll post pictures when I get them.
